Application scope:

This standard specifies the range of use, technical requirements, sampling, testing, acceptance and packaging of the porcelain or composite rod-shaped supporting insulator for the pantograph, busbar (conducting rod) on the AC25kV side of the roof of electric locomotives and electric vehicle groups.

In the insulator mechanical performance test, the locomotive pantograph supporting insulator should be able to withstand the bending failure load not less than 8kN; the locomotive bus supporting insulator should be able to withstand the bending failure load not less than 4kN.
