This report comes from Niko Stefani: The Lake Forest Fire Department responded to a chimney fire with a Code 4 designation. The department received a 911 call from a passerby who spotted flames coming from a chimney at 472 E Illinois Road. Battalion 42 was the first on scene and reported visible flames shooting from the chimney. Shortly after, the incident was upgraded to a Code 4. The initial Code 3 response included Lake Forest Squad Co. 421, Engine Co. 422, Ambulance 421, and Battalion 42. The Code 4 activation brought in additional units, including Lake Forest Chief 4200, 4201, and 4202, Knollwood Ladder Co. 44, Lincolnshire-Riverwoods Squad Co. 51, Highland Park Engine Co. 34, Battalion 33, and Chief 3301. Deerfield Chief 2000 and Libertyville Ambulance 463 also arrived. Lake Bluff Chief 4503 and Wheeling Ambulance 24 were assigned to a different location as part of the shift change. Knollwood Ladder 44 positioned their truck in the driveway to get a better vantage point above the chimney. Lake Forest Squad 421 had already set up their light tower in the driveway when they arrived.
