How to choose the material of electromagnetic flowmeter correctly

Electromagnetic flowmeter as a commonly used flow measurement instrument , the choice of its material is also an important factor. Since the part of the electromagnetic flowmeter in contact with the medium is only the inside of the electrode and the measuring tube, it is necessary to select the correct electrode and lining material according to the characteristics of different media.
First, the choice of electrode material
General electrode material is divided into the following types:
1. Stainless steel (0Cr18Ni12Mo2Ti) . Suitable for nitric acid, sulfuric acid at room temperature of less than 5% , boiling phosphoric acid, formic acid, alkali solution, under certain pressure of sulfurous acid, seawater, acetic acid.
2. Hastelloy B, Hastelloy C. Can be used for seawater, salt water.
3. Titanium. Suitable for seawater, various chlorides and hypochlorinated hydrochloric acid, oxidizing acids ( including fuming nitric acid ) , organic acids, and alkalis.
4. Hey. Other chemical media other than hydrofluoric acid, fuming sulfuric acid , and alkalis, including boiling point hydrochloric acid, nitric acid, and < 175 °C sulfuric acid can all be used.
5. Platinum. Can be used for various acids, bases, and salts, but does not include aqua regia.
Second, on the choice of lining material
Another important material choice for electromagnetic flowmeters is how to accurately choose the lining material. It must be noted that the lining material should be chosen based on the aggressiveness, wear and temperature of the measured medium.
1. Rubber. It has excellent elasticity, high breaking force , good abrasion resistance, resistance to general weak acid and weak alkali, and can measure water, sewage, mud and pulp.
2. Polyurethane. It has excellent abrasion resistance, poor resistance to acid and alkali, and can measure coal slurry, mud and pulp that have strong neutral wear.
3. PTFE . Anti-boiling hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, nitric acid, aqua regia, concentrated alkali and various organic solvents have good abrasion resistance and poor bonding performance.
The above is the choice of materials related to electromagnetic flowmeters . Different media have different characteristics. It is not necessary to choose the most expensive one. Choosing the right one is economical and durable.
