· Zero-emission Land Rover Guardian pure electric vehicle first came to China for testing

Recently, Land Rover launched its first zero-emission model at the Geneva International Motor Show – the Land Rover Defender pure electric test vehicle showed Land Rover's achievements in the new energy field and appeared in the Land Rover Huzhou Experience Center. The all-terrain off-road obstacle design built in the experience center and the longest all-terrain experience line in Asia will enable the national media and customers to fully appreciate the ubiquitous performance of this zero-emission model.

Cutting-edge innovative power system

The Land Rover engineering team is committed to developing innovative technologies to bring more automotive solutions that meet sustainability commitments. The Guardian Pure Electric Test Vehicle is the innovation that Land Rover has achieved in this field. It is also the perfect continuation of Land Rover's innovative concept and cutting-edge automotive engineering technology.

The Land Rover Defender pure electric test vehicle uses a pure electric drive to replace the normal version of the diesel engine and gearbox. The power of the motor is 70 kW / 94 hp and the maximum torque is 330 Nm. The driving motor is a lithium battery pack with an output voltage of 300 volts and a maximum capacity of 27 kWh. After one charge, the vehicle can continue driving for 8 hours at low speed off-road conditions, and the cruising range is over 80 kilometers. In terms of charging time, if you use the 7 kW fast charging system, the car can be charged in 4 hours; if you use a 3 kW charging system, it takes 10 hours to fully charge.

Green and efficient electric technology

The battery pack used by the Guardian Pure Electric Test Vehicle weighs 410 kilograms and is installed in the position of the original diesel engine. It is about 100 kilograms larger than the Guardian 110 model, and its total weight is between 2055 kg and 2162 kg depending on the body style. .

The power system of the Guardian Pure Electric Test Vehicle uses air cooling instead of liquid cooling technology, which mainly includes batteries, transmissions and electric motors. Air cooling technology makes the motor lighter, easier to operate, and more stable. In addition, the regenerative braking system used has been optimized so that the motor can generate 30 kilowatts of power when the steep slope descent system is turned on. And its lithium battery pack can be quickly charged at twice the maximum capacity, 54 kW without shortening battery life, so the innovative drive system and advanced lithium battery can restore and store almost all regeneration. Energy, achieving up to 80% kinetic energy recycling.

Uncompromising all-terrain capability

In addition to the innovative powertrain, the Guardian Pure Electric Tester has always maintained the legendary all-terrain capability of the Guardian model and still has strong off-road performance. It is equipped with an advanced four-wheel drive system and a lock-up differential, and because the special performance of the motor can output the maximum torque from 0 speed, it does not even need any gear shift support; at the same time, it is fixed at 2.7: The 1 reduction gear ratio is matched with the four-wheel drive system and the all-terrain feedback adaptation system TerrainResponse® based on the electric drive re-adjustment, making the electric version of the guard more comfortable for all road conditions.

Following the success of the Guardian-based electric vehicle, Jaguar 1, the Land Rover's forward-looking engineering team once again developed the Guardian Pure Electric Test Vehicle and tested it through various extreme and extreme environments: including dragging on a 13-degree slope. The 12-ton road train and the wading through a water depth of 800 mm demonstrate its ability to lead the traditional road-driven electric vehicle.

Guardian pure electric test car inherits the concept of Land Rover's “easy driving”, and its low-speed and smooth running ability of electric drive system makes this model especially suitable for dealing with obstacle roads without causing unnecessary damage to the road surface.

Antony Harper, head of Jaguar Land Rover Research and Development, said: "The Guardian Pure Electric Test Vehicle has withstood the most rigorous tests in Land Rover's testing of electric vehicles, and even passed the toughest all-terrain capability test. It gives us the opportunity to continuously upgrade. Test more cutting-edge technologies and apply them to Land Rover models in the near future."

There is no mass production plan for the Guardian Pure Electric Test Vehicle. All 7 test vehicles will be put into use in various professional applications in the future.
