Canadian potash still resists BHP Billiton’s hostile takeover

The Canadian Saskatchewan government commissioned an advisory group to evaluate the acquisition of Canadian Potash Corp., which tends to support the Australian mining company BHP Billiton's acquisition plan, but Potash added a refutation of the assessment report on Tuesday.
The addition of potash indicated that the Canadian Economic Consultation Bureau's assessment report underestimated the hostile BHP Billiton takeover offer, which may cause tax losses to the provincial government and overestimate the impact of other potential bidders on provincial government revenue. Potash issued a statement, calling on the provincial government to evaluate the various bidding options based on facts and not to be influenced by the report written by the consultative bureau in a speculative manner. According to the Canadian Economic Consultation Bureau's report, adding potash fertilizer to Chinese companies may result in the price of potash being depressed, and the local government’s financial losses will be greater than BHP Billiton’s gains in control. However, BHP Billiton’s proposed acquisition is still being added. Potash was rejected with a low valuation. Although there are rumors that Chinese-funded company Sinochem International intends to participate in bids, no real action has yet been seen.
