Columbus, Indiana, USA – Cummins Inc. announced on August 21, 2019 that Rich Freeland, the company's president and chief operating officer, will officially retire in October 2019 after serving Cummins 40 years later.

As part of Cummins' succession planning, the following appointments will take effect on October 15, 2019:

Tony Satterthwaite, the current president of the distribution division, will succeed Rich Freeland as president and chief operating officer of Cummins;

Tracy Embree, the current president of the Parts Business Unit, will succeed Tony Satterthwaite as President of Cummins Distribution.

The current Chief Technology Officer, Jennifer Rumsey, will replace Tracy Embree as President of Cummins Parts Business Unit;

Jim Fier will replace Jennifer Runsey as Chief Technology Officer of Cummins

Feng Tianxiang graduated from Purdue University in 1979 and joined Cummins in the same year. He was the foreman at the Cummins Parts Distribution Center in Columbus, Indiana. Feng Tianxiang spent all 40 years in Cummins. In Cummins' five business segments, he has led the development and growth of the three major businesses, and has served as chief operating officer since 2014, responsible for Cummins' global operations to date.

Song Tengming is currently the President of the Distribution Division, which has 16,000 employees worldwide. Song Tengming will succeed Feng Tianxiang as the chief operating officer of Cummins. He joined Cummins in 1988 and has led several business areas and operations.

Song Tengming led the Cummins Power Division from 2008 to 2015. Under his leadership, the power business developed and manufactured the full range of large fixed-equity generator sets in the power industry to meet the US Federal Environmental Protection Agency's four-stage standard. Cummins' power business continues to grow and continue to invest in new technologies.

While leading different business segments, Song Tengming is constantly striving to improve business returns and customer satisfaction, and is familiar with the company's business-level operations. His work abilities and achievements are obvious to all. He has held positions in Asia, Europe, and the United States, and has visited Cummins' various operations in the world.

Tracy Embree will succeed Song Tengming as President of the Distribution Division. In her five years leading the Parts Business Unit, business sales and profits have reached new heights. Embree has held leadership positions in various business areas, including several key positions directly facing customers.

Rong Zhanning will serve as the president of the parts division. Since joining Cummins in 2000, she has held several technical leadership positions and is currently Chief Technology Officer of Cummins. Rong Zhanning has served as the person in charge of engineering technology, new product development, control system, emission treatment technology, advanced technology, and quality. In the past 19 years, Rong Zhanning has participated in several core product and technology research and development projects.
