A major explosion rocked a home in Joliet on Sunday afternoon, injuring five people and causing significant damage to the property and nearby residences. The incident occurred around 2:40 p.m. at the 2200 block of Washington Street in Will County. According to the East Joliet Fire Protection District, the house was completely destroyed, while neighboring homes sustained minor structural damage.

Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene, and all five victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment. One person was reported in critical condition, while the others had non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities have not yet released the identities of those involved, but they are currently investigating the cause of the explosion. No official statement has been made about whether the blast was caused by a gas leak, an electrical issue, or another factor.
