A devastating house explosion occurred in Joliet on Sunday afternoon, injuring five people in the 2200 block of Washington Street in Will County around 2:40 p.m. The East Joliet Fire Protection District reported that the home was completely destroyed, while nearby residences sustained minor damage.

Emergency responders transported all five victims to local hospitals. One individual is in critical condition, while the others are being treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities have not yet released the identities of the injured or confirmed whether the explosion was caused by a gas leak, structural failure, or another factor. The investigation is ongoing, and residents in the area are advised to remain cautious.
