Shanghai is actively promoting the use of pure electric vehicles, driving the development of the new energy automotive industry, and exploring the business model for promoting new energy vehicles.

This was disclosed by Wang Zhe, project manager of the Shanghai New Energy Vehicles Promotion Office, at the “2010 China Automotive Industry International Development Forum” held in Tianjin on the 5th.

According to Wang Zhe, from 2006 to the present, private car buyers in Shanghai have maintained a growth rate of more than 20%. By the end of 2009, the number of registered motor vehicles was 2.423 million, not including some vehicles that have been licensed in Shanghai. . The vehicles bring convenience to the public and cause environmental pollution. According to estimates, 66% of pollution sources, 90% of organic matter, and 26% of particulate matter in Shanghai are from motor vehicle pollution. Therefore, it is of great significance to carry out the strategy of energy conservation and new energy vehicles to promote the adjustment of Shanghai's auto transportation energy structure and improve the urban environment.

Wang Zhe said that the overall goal set by Shanghai is that by 2012, the number of privately-owned new energy vehicles in Shanghai will reach 20,000 and the charging infrastructure will be 25,000. The idea is to improve the use of pure electric vehicles. Drive the development of the new energy automotive industry, encourage policies to improve the consumer environment, and explore the business model for promoting new energy vehicles.

According to the briefing, Shanghai will use Jiading District as a pilot, and will also promote it to all districts to form a demonstration framework and network covering the city's major functional areas. In the promotion process, vehicle leasing is the mainstay, and a gradual transition from unit-oriented purchasing to a new commercialized private car purchase is made. To this end, Shanghai has introduced incentive policies in vehicle procurement, automotive R&D, infrastructure, and battery leasing to support the promotion of new energy vehicles. It is estimated that by 2012, Shanghai's local new energy vehicle production capacity will be increased to 100,000 vehicles, including 60,000 passenger vehicles for new energy vehicles, which will form an annual output value of new energy vehicles worth 30 billion yuan, including passenger vehicles. The scale is about 20 billion yuan.
