The two new electric buses on the new line can work in both pure electric and hybrid electric modes. The pure electric mode is powered only by the battery and the motor drives the bus. In the hybrid electric mode, the battery is charged by the diesel engine, the battery drives the motor to drive the bus, and the diesel engine can maintain efficient operation.
Experts believe that these two modes work less noise, less exhaust emissions, and about 30% more fuel than traditional passenger cars. The electric drive mode has a top speed of 75 kilometers per hour. In the prosperous and densely populated streets, it can work in pure electric mode to achieve zero emissions; in the suburbs, it uses diesel engine and electric motor hybrid electric mode to work, and the emission has reached the Euro IV international standard.
