Increase in the proportion of renewable energy consumption in Germany

According to the report, in 2007, the proportion of renewable energy used in Germany’s electricity consumption increased from 11.9% in 2006 to 14.3%; the proportion of renewable energy in fuel consumption rose from 6.6% to 7%; The share of renewable energy in heating consumption rose from 6% to 6.5%. The report also shows that in 2007 Germany’s renewable energy production increased from 73 billion kwh in the previous year to 86.7 billion kwh, of which wind power generated 38.5 billion kilowatt hours, and bioenergy generated 23.5 billion kwh. Power generation is 21.7 billion kwh.
The association stressed that by using renewable energy, Germany reduced carbon dioxide emissions by about 14 million tons in 2007, reducing the import of crude oil, gas, coal or uranium worth about 5.9 billion euros.
