Kunlun double fuel engine oil developed successfully

Recently, a meeting was held in Panjin, Liaoning Province, to present the test results of Kunlun's dual-fuel engine oil used in the Sulige Gas Field. Representatives from upstream and downstream manufacturers, including Jinan Diesel Engine Factory, Great Wall Drilling Northwest Command Center, Drilling Company, and Drilling Second Company, attended the event. The gathering reviewed the performance of the KCN7810D dual-fuel internal combustion engine oil over the past year, recognized the progress made during the testing phase, and celebrated the successful launch of this innovative product.

During the meeting, the Dalian Research and Development Institute presented detailed findings on the application of Kunlun KCN7810D dual-fuel engine oil in the Sulige Gas Field. Since the project's initiation in September 2007, the Kunlun Lubricant Huabei Sales Branch conducted extensive market research and technical discussions with local teams. Focused on the unique challenges of the Sulige Gas Field—characterized by low permeability, low pressure, and low resource abundance—the company adopted a cost-effective development strategy. This led to the creation of a new dual-fuel diesel engine lubricant aimed at improving the internal oil environment and offering advanced technical support for lubrication solutions.

With strong collaboration from multiple stakeholders, the KCN7810D dual-fuel engine oil was tested on-site at the well team in November 2007. After one year of dedicated efforts, the test successfully collected monitoring oil samples. Following rigorous evaluation by the Dalian Research and Development Institute, the performance of KCN7810D met all the required standards. Compared to conventional oils and similar imported products, Kunlun’s KCN7810D demonstrated significant advantages, including energy savings, reduced operational costs, and extended equipment lifespan.

In the early stages, Kunlun Lubricants visited the Sulige Gas Field, and the Liaohe Bureau carried out several test campaigns. The positive impact of the KCN7810D dual-fuel engine oil has drawn attention from other well teams involved in oil and gas field development. To date, the Kunlun Lubricant Huabei Sales Branch has supplied a total of 38 barrels of KCN7810D test oil for the Sulige Gas Field operations, achieving sales of 40 barrels (equivalent to 13.26 tons). Equipment performance has remained stable, and the oil application is now gradually expanding.
