South Korea Mongolia plans to jointly develop coal chemical project

According to the Yonhap News Agency on January 17, the Korean Ministry of Knowledge Economy stated on the 17th that the South Korean government will sign the Mongolian-Mongolian Memorandum of Understanding on Clean Coal and Resource Development Cooperation (MOU) with Mongolia at the earliest and establish a demonstration base in Mongolia in Mongolia. Low-grade coal produces petroleum, chemical raw materials, and coal-based natural gas (SNG).
The relevant person in charge of the Korea Ministry of Knowledge Economy stated that as part of the "Hankow cooperation project," the two sides are discussing the plan to use Mongolian low-quality coal to develop clean fuels. As South Korea is developing this technology, if Mongolia provides raw materials, South Korea will establish a demonstration base in the region.
It is reported that the Ministry of Knowledge Economy of Korea has been promoting clean coal energy development projects with POSCO and SK Energy since 2009. The POSCO project will cost 1 trillion won (approximately RMB 5.9 billion). By 2013, it will build a 500,000 ton-scale synthetic natural gas plant. SK Energy will also invest 550 billion won to establish a research base in 2013.
