Comprehensive foreign reports, Volvo Cars recently announced that the company plans to sell its parts factory in Floby, Sweden to the Amtek Group in India.

Components produced at the Volvo Floby plant include brake discs, hubs and connecting rods for the supply of passenger cars and commercial vehicles. In addition to supplying Volvo Cars, this factory product has about 70% of its production capacity for supplying other car companies.

After the acquisition, the Floby plant will continue to supply parts for Volvo Cars, and the ownership change is expected to be completed by the end of this year. At present, neither party has disclosed details of the transaction, but it has been determined that the existing 441 workers' positions of the plant will be retained.

Amtek is currently actively expanding overseas. In 2014, it finalized the acquisition of three overseas companies, two of which are located in Europe. The group's annual sales revenue totaled 20 billion rupees, or about 321 million US dollars. In March this year, media reported that it will also acquire Tianhe’s suspension business.

Amtek's customers include Jaguar Land Rover, BMW, Daimler, Chrysler, General Motors, Hyundai, Magna, Maruti Suzuki and many other passenger vehicle manufacturers. Commercial vehicle customers include Iveco, Daimler and Volvo. Trucks etc.
