Yuan Xin, Chairman of the China Petroleum and Chemical Survey and Design Association, said in his speech that since the establishment of the China Petroleum and Survey and Design Association 20 years ago, it has served members and government departments and accelerated its integration with international engineering companies. In the development, the major domestic petroleum and chemical survey and design units have joined the association, and the number of association members has grown to 159. At present, the annual investment in fixed assets of petroleum and chemical industry amounts to RMB350 billion, of which the survey and design work of the major construction projects is carried out or undertaken by the member units of the association.
The president of the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Association Li Yongwu emphasized at the meeting that the national “Eleventh Five-Year Plan†will be implemented this year, and the state and local governments will approve the construction of a batch of large and medium-sized petroleum and chemical projects. While paying attention to scale and efficiency, we must not neglect the two major events of rational development and utilization of resources and environmental protection. Petroleum and chemical exploration and design companies are the leading players in project construction and should set the first stage for good planning and engineering design.
