The advantage of the third largest reserves of coalbed methane is poised for Chinese and foreign enterprises to compete for the development of "the first barrel of gold"

As the third largest reserve country after Russia and Canada, China's CBM industry is attracting attention from large coal chemical companies at home and abroad. The large-scale industrialization of coalbed methane resources is poised for development.
It is understood that due to the limited technical bottleneck in the development of domestic coalbed methane, domestic companies are mostly developing in cooperation with foreign companies that have capital and mature technologies. From this year, Guizhou has significantly accelerated the exploration of coalbed methane resources. In September this year, it cooperated with China Coalbed Methane Co., Ltd., the only professional CBM company that enjoys a foreign cooperation franchise, and signed a cooperation with Canadian Energy Canada Co., Ltd. Development of a product sharing contract for coal bed methane resources in Qingshan District, Guizhou Province; Heilongjiang Longmei Mining Group Co., Ltd. and Hong Kong Zhongjie International Co., Ltd., and Canada Cathay Oil & Gas Co., Ltd., signed a letter of intent for comprehensive promotion of CBM production and development; With the active cooperation of Yunnan Province, China United will establish a demonstration site for CMM surface extraction in this province to explore commercial development. According to Sun Maoyuan, general manager of China United, the company will establish two CBM production bases by 2010, with an annual production of 1 billion to 1.5 billion cubic meters; by 2015, it will build two or three production bases and achieve annual production. 100 billion cubic meters. At that time, the production of coalbed methane will reach the scale for commercial development and utilization.
Shanxi Jinmei Coal Group fully utilized the province's proven reserves of coalbed methane to account for one-third of the country's advantages. Based on the use of foreign technology, it created a set of ground-based coal bed methane development technology with independent intellectual property rights suitable for the region, and used The foreign loan investment of 2 billion yuan has fully launched the CBM development project. At present, the Group's ground pre-drainage wells are stable in gas production and have commercial development conditions. It is expected that all 150 wells will be put into operation by the end of the year and the gas production scale will reach 100 million cubic meters; within 5 to 10 years, the ground pre-drainage wells will reach 2,000 The annual gas production will reach 2 billion cubic meters.
It is understood that due to geological, equipment and other factors that restrict the extraction of CBM on the ground, despite more than a decade of exploration, CBM development in China has not yet entered commercial scale development and utilization. However, with the continuous improvement of the level of science and technology, state-owned large-scale coal mining enterprises have invested huge sums of money to develop ground coal bed methane development technologies adapted to China's geological structure, actively cultivate the market for coal bed methane utilization, and the obstacles to restricting the development of CBM are being overcome.
