OnGuardTM is an active safety system for commercial vehicles. It is based on radar technology and uses active braking and adaptive cruise control to achieve collision warning and collision mitigation. The OnGuardTM collision mitigation system can detect the object in front and measure the position of the vehicle relative to other vehicles on the road and alert the driver in the form of audible, visual, and tactile signals before a rear-end collision may occur. This system is kept in working condition all the time, even if the cruise control is not set, the road condition can be monitored, and if necessary, an early warning and active braking can be implemented. Once the driving situation is found to be potentially dangerous, the OnGuardTM collision mitigation system responds in a timely manner. Response methods include issuing alarms, automatically reducing engine torque, and implementing basic braking.

A prominent feature of the OnGuardTM collision mitigation system is the ability to “see” the surroundings in conditions of limited vision, thanks to the use of high-quality, long-range radar with best-in-class performance.
