It has been four days since the fire accident in Lankao, but the cause of the fire and the determination of the responsibility have still not come out. The dozens of children who were severely adopted by Yuan were rejected by the government of Lankao County.

On the morning of the 7th, the Propaganda Department of Lankao County Party Committee organized several reporters to interview the Kaifeng City Social Welfare Institute and the Second People’s Hospital of Kaifeng City where the injured were treated. It is reported that except for Yuan Xiaoxu, who was burned in a fire, he is still not out of danger and the hospital is still fully rescuing. The other 10 outcasts are in good condition. However, there is still no conclusion on how to deal with the situation in the future.

Some children never brush their teeth

Wang Yongxi, director of the Kaifeng Municipal Social Welfare Institute, said that at present, there is only one comprehensive welfare institution in Kaifeng, with more than 230 children. Each child has a living allowance of 1,000 yuan per month, which is allocated by the state. According to reports, this welfare institution bears responsibility for including disabled children in five districts and five districts in the city.

Wang Yongxi revealed that at 11 am on the 4th, he received a notice from the Civil Affairs Bureau of Kaifeng that he would first go to Lankao to receive children. At 5pm that day, a 7-month-old infant was taken to the orphanage. Both children are disabled, one is cleft lip and the other is Down Syndrome. At noon the next day, another 8 children were also brought in. The Ministry of Food and Beverage made dumplings for the children. Some children were distressed. However, after the social workers gave one-on-one psychological counseling, the children's mood was calmed down.

Wang Yongxi said that the next morning many children were found not to brush their teeth. They had never brushed their teeth, and even toothbrush toothpaste would not be used. Some children did not even comb their hair.

Welfare homes are only temporarily adopted

The reporter saw from the children’s new dwelling that two young babies lived in a large suite with a dozen abandoned babies and were taken care of by five staff members.

The other 8 children lived in a suite, 4 boys stayed outside, 4 girls stayed in, and the middle two beds were used to accompany the nursing staff. Because there are five children in school, only San Mao, Yuan Jingjing and Yuan Chong are in the room. They are respectively 7 years old, 10 years old, and 15 years old. San Mao is deaf-mute, Yuan Jingjing and Yuan Chong are mentally retarded, so they cannot learn. Guardian Chen Long told reporters that several children did not speak very well when they first arrived. They are now very embarrassed and can communicate with nurses.

From the point of view of the living environment, the condition of welfare homes far outweighs the severe adoption point of Yuan. However, there are still reporters revealed that during the previous interview, many children still said that they missed “mother” (Rightly) and wanted to return to “Mother Yuan”, and Wang Yongxi denied this claim.

In addition, Wang Yongxi said that at present, the welfare homes only adopt these ten children temporarily, because the procedures are not yet complete.

When asked about where these children are located, Wang Yongxi said: “A joint group of local public security, fire fighting, and civil affairs will decide if the joint group needs long-term placement of welfare institutions, we will bear it."
