Regulations and standards point more clearly

In early February of this year, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Ministry of Transport jointly issued the "Notice on Implementing the Management of Fuel Consumption for Heavy Commercial Vehicles" to implement fuel consumption management for commercial vehicles with a maximum design total mass of more than 3,500kg.


The standard for fuel consumption limit of heavy-duty commercial vehicles has a greater impact on truck companies and transport operators. In order to meet the fuel consumption limit, the manufacturer must carry out technological transformation on the matching of the entire vehicle. Vehicles with high fuel consumption and high emissions will gradually exit the transportation market. Instead, they will be replaced with new models that meet the national requirements for energy conservation and environmental protection. The structure of transportation vehicles will be gradually optimized.


The national standard "Technical conditions for the safe operation of motor vehicles" (GB7258-2012) will be implemented on September 1 this year. This standard improves the technical safety requirements for medium and heavy-duty freight vehicles and dangerous goods vehicles. It specifies that semi-trailer tractors and trucks with a total mass of 12,000 kg or more should be equipped with anti-lock braking devices and retarders that meet the requirements (or Other auxiliary brake devices) and safety devices such as car tachographs. The implementation of this standard will improve the overall safety technical performance of road-operated vehicles and prevent road traffic accidents at the source.


The direction of these standards and regulations is more clearly defined. It is intended to promote the adjustment of product structure by enterprises, improve the technological level, and produce safe, energy-efficient and efficient truck products.


A dazzling new star in the LNG truck segment

In the face of the current downturn in the truck market, finding a market breakthrough has become a top priority for truck companies. LNG trucks are seen as a "key" to expand the market for trucks.


Under the dual drive of the government and the market, in the past two years, China's LNG vehicles have grown at an average annual rate of more than 20%. Based on the vast space for development of natural gas, many companies have deployed natural gas trucks to define it as a breakthrough point in the market. Shaanxi Automobile, Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle, FAW Jiefang, United Trucks, Sinotruk, Foton Auman, Beiben Heavy Duty Truck, Hualing, SAIC Iveco Hongyan and others have all launched natural gas heavy trucks. Among them, the production and sales of LNG heavy trucks such as Shaanxi Automobile Group, China National Heavy Duty Truck Group, China FAW, FAW Jiefang, Futian Auman, Beiben Heavy Duty Truck and other domestic mainstream companies have gradually formed scale.


Export builds a new model

In the weak domestic market, exports have become a driving force for boosting the sales of heavy trucks in China. Truck companies are investing more in overseas markets and using overseas strategies as an important part of their corporate development strategy. As the domestic industry is more mature and the cost-effectiveness of products is higher, China’s heavy trucks are becoming increasingly competitive in overseas markets. In addition, domestic companies have stepped up efforts to expand overseas markets, and overseas cooperation and capacity investment are accelerating.


This year, Sinotruk, FAW Jiefang, Beiben, Dongfeng, Futian, Hualing, Jianghuai and other companies have performed well in overseas markets. From January to October this year, the total export volume of trucks with a gross cargo weight greater than 20 tons increased by 28.22% year-on-year; the export volume was 1.593 billion USD, a year-on-year increase of 31.05%.


With the increasing contribution of overseas markets to the performance of truck companies, some companies are already not satisfied with simply exporting overseas, but formulate overseas development strategies, establish their own overseas marketing service systems, set up factories overseas, and build new export models. . Futian's "2020" strategic plan proposes that the transition from "operation in China" to "operation in the world" be achieved. Breakthroughs were made in three developed markets in North America, the European Union and Japan and South Korea. China National Heavy Duty Truck will continue to transform and optimize its product export model and open up new markets.


Light trucks are unstoppable

In 2012, China's light truck market performed better than medium-duty trucks. The biggest feature of the light truck market is the unstoppable trend of high-end products.

As China's social economy continues to develop, consumer demand gradually increases. At the same time, China is in the process of rapid urbanization, and the logistics market is gradually subdivided. Based on this, China's light-card market structure has been continuously optimized, and light-duty trucks have evolved from low-end to mid-to-high-end, and have gradually become the mainstream and main product of the light-card market demand.


Commercial vehicle companies saw market opportunities and positioned their newly launched products in the city's logistics and transportation market to launch high-end light truck products. This year, Jianghuai Shuai Ling III took the lead in traveling across the country and won wide recognition from users. Jiangling launched the Kerry 800 in May and positioned it as a high-end light truck. At the end of September, the high-end light truck built by Nanjing Iveco exceeded the offline line. . There is substantial interest in dumping and transport

In 2012, the dumping and transport industry ushered in a number of favorable policies to help the dumping and transport of goods into the fast lane of development.


In January of this year, the "Recommended Vehicles for Road Dropping and Transport (1st Batch)" was formally released, and 16 models of 11 truck companies were listed.


In May, the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Finance jointly issued the Interim Measures for the Management of Pilot Special Funds for Highway Drop-and-Hang Trail Transport, and clearly stated that it would provide subsidies for the renewal of the pilot companies for suspension and transportation and the purchase of models recommended for suspension and transport, as well as subsidies for tractors and semi-trailers. They were 40,000 yuan each and 15,000 yuan each.


Afterwards, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Finance, and the Ministry of Transport jointly issued a document, emphasizing that local governments at various levels must urge local transportation, finance, and price departments to effectively implement preferential toll policies for vehicles that are recommended for suspension and transportation. These policies have played an important role in promoting the suspension of suspension models and the adjustment of transport capacity.


On December 20, the Ministry of Transport announced the second batch of recommended models for road dumping and transportation, and made public announcements. The number of recommended models was greatly increased compared to the first batch, and the technical requirements for the suspension models were further refined.


In recent years, the country has attached great importance to the development of suspension and transportation, and has gradually promoted this type of efficient transportation. Lightweight heavy trucks are becoming more and more "light"

National emission regulations have become more and more stringent. Local governments have implemented a policy of overweight and overcharging, and truck lightweighting has become an opportunity to resolve “overload” and promote “energy saving and emission reduction”. High-power, lightweight, low fuel consumption, and economical heavy trucks have become the mainstream of market demand.


Beiben displayed at the Beijing Auto Show this year showed that the weight of the V3 lightweight tractor (H09) was less than 8 tons.
