Thermoplastics become softer and more malleable when heated, whereas thermosets exhibit greater resistance to deformation. This temperature-dependent behavior makes each type suitable for specific applications. Electric current flowing through conductors generates heat based on resistance and current intensity. Consequently, thermoset-insulated cables can handle higher current loads or operate in hotter environments compared to thermoplastic-insulated cables, preserving their structural integrity better. Ensuring the cross-linking process is complete during the production of thermoset-insulated cables is crucial to achieving the desired characteristics. This test verifies whether the cable insulation meets the necessary standards. Before conducting the test, the plastic is stripped off the metal conductor, and depending on the conductor's size, either a tubular or dumbbell-shaped sample is prepared. The procedure involves exposing the samples to high temperatures in an oven (the conditions are typically defined by the cable standard), suspending them from a holder with a weight attached to the bottom. The weight used is determined by the test standard and depends on the sample's cross-sectional area. After the specified duration, the cable's elongation is measured and compared to its original length (hot elongation). Once the weight is removed, the sample is allowed to cool to room temperature to measure the permanent elongation. If the obtained values fall within the acceptable ranges for both hot elongation and permanent elongation, the cross-linking grade is deemed appropriate. Hot Set Test for Cross-Linked Materials IEC 60811-507 / UNE-EN 60811-507
Plastic materials are classified
based on their characteristics as
thermoplastics and thermosetsThermoset materials achieve these properties
through the process called cross-linking
If the results fall within the required elongation values,
it is assumed that the cross-linking level is adequate.

Circular Saw Blades
Function and application: Saw blades are the main tools used for wood cutting, usually used in conjunction with circular saws. They can be used to cut wood crosswise or cut wood longitudinally into boards or logs.
Material and design: Common saw blade materials include high-speed steel (HSS), carbon steel, and carbide (carbide steel). The design of the TCT Circular Saw Blade has different tooth shapes and numbers of blades according to different cutting requirements and wood types.
