Large grass fire in Grayslake, 4-9-14
Hey everyone,
This is Sam Borica, and I just wanted to share some photos I took earlier today (April 9, 2014) of a pretty intense brush fire that happened in Grayslake. It was located near Rt 60 and Behm Lane. This fire spread across numerous acres, and as you can imagine, it required multiple fire departments to respond to the scene. It took them about an hour and a half to fully extinguish the flames and clear everything up.
I managed to capture some great shots of the chaos and hard work that went into containing this fire. There's also one picture of Mundelein Ambulance 431 stationed outside Grayslake’s Station #3 during a change of quarters across the street.

It’s quite the sight—there’s heavy smoke billowing everywhere, fire engines working tirelessly, and firefighters doing their best to control the situation. It really highlights how quickly wildfires can escalate and the dedication of those who fight them.
