1. Choose the Right Bulkhead

2. Prioritize Safety

Once your LED bulkhead lights arrive and you're ready to start the installation process, prioritize safety. First, turn off the main power supply and ensure there's enough clearance around the bulkhead light. It's also crucial to verify that the total load of all installed lights does not exceed the capacity of the fuse or circuit breaker.

3. Remove the Diffuser

Using an appropriate screwdriver, carefully remove all the mounting screws. Be cautious not to touch the LEDs or accidentally damage them during this step.

4. Mount the Base to the Surface

Before finalizing the position of the LED light, confirm that the surface can support its weight. Mark the desired location on the surface and align the base using the holes at the back. Drill the marked holes and secure the base to the surface.

5. Open the Gear Tray

With the diffuser safely set aside and the base securely fastened, gently unscrew the gear tray and place it aside, taking care not to damage the LEDs.

6. Thread the Cable

Before threading the power supply cable, ensure it is long enough to connect to the AC wires within the gear tray. Once satisfied with the length, thread the cable through the designated entry point and into the fitting.

7. Connect the Wires

Follow the color-coded wiring system when connecting the wires to the main power supply:

  • Live – brown or red
  • Neutral – blue or black
  • Earth – green and yellow

Exercise extreme caution during this process to avoid injury or damage to the bulkhead light.

8. Reattach the Gear Tray

After safely and correctly connecting the wires, reattach the gear tray using the screws you removed earlier to ensure it is firmly secured.

9. Check for Loose Cables

10. Refit the Diffuser
