Chicago Still Alarm fire 4-13-13
**From Dan Shevlin:**
I just got back from responding to a small kitchen fire on 4123 W Monroe. The incident happened on April 13, 2013, around 1347 hours. Battalion 13 and their team were on scene quickly, and Engine 95 had a hose line deployed almost immediately. Thanks to their swift action, the fire was put out in no time. It was a minor incident but always good to see everyone working together smoothly.

The photo shows Engine 38 parked at the scene. This is one of the newer engines in the fleet, and it looks sharp with its clean lines and bright red paint job. Dan Shevlin snapped this shot while we were setting up.

Here’s another angle of the operation. You can see Truck 26 in the background, ready to assist if needed. The firefighters are all focused and prepared—always reassuring to see when you're counting on them.

This close-up of Truck 26 highlights the equipment they have at their disposal. Notice the ladder extended—it's impressive how high it can reach when necessary. Dan managed to capture this moment perfectly.

Engine 95 was front and center for this call. In this picture, you can see the crew prepping for action. They’re professionals through and through, and it shows in every detail.

Another view of Engine 95 in action. These guys are always on top of things, and it’s clear they’ve done this type of work countless times before. Safety first—that’s the motto here.

And finally, here’s a great candid shot of one of our firefighters wearing an air pack. It’s a reminder of the gear these men and women wear to keep themselves safe while doing such dangerous yet essential work. Dan really captured the intensity of the moment.
It’s always humbling to witness firsthand how dedicated and skilled our local firefighters are. They truly make a difference every single day. Thanks again to everyone involved!
