New used engine for the Roberts Park FPD (more)
Roberts Park recently acquired a 2009 Seagrave Marauder II engine, which had previously been in service with the fire department in Mansfield, MA. This vehicle is set to replace Engine 303, originally known as Engine 31—a 1993 Pierce Dash model. Before joining the Justice Fire Department as Engine 551, this older engine had a long history serving other communities.
The new addition, the 2009 Seagrave, boasts modern features and enhanced capabilities compared to its predecessor. Its predecessor, the 1993 Pierce Dash, was a workhorse for many years but has now been retired. Interestingly, the Pierce Dash was initially part of Justice FD’s fleet as Engine 551 before Roberts Park took over.
Below are some images showcasing these vehicles. The first picture highlights the sleek design of the 2009 Seagrave Marauder II. Following that, you'll see two photos of the 1993 Pierce Dash in action. Finally, we’ve included an archival image of Justice Engine 551 when it was brand-new. These pictures provide a visual journey through the evolution of firefighting equipment in this area.
A special thanks goes out to Keith for sharing these valuable images and insights. It’s fascinating to see how far technology and design have come in such a short span of time!

As I write this, I can’t help but reflect on how much firefighting technology has advanced over the decades. From the sturdy yet somewhat dated Pierce Dash to the cutting-edge features of today’s Seagrave models, each generation brings improvements in safety, efficiency, and overall performance. It’s inspiring to know that these vehicles play a critical role in protecting lives and property every day.
