House fire in Arlington Heights, 1-22-21
Arlington Heights police and emergency services were dispatched to 302 Ivy Lane around 9 PM on Friday night (January 22, 2021) following reports of a house fire. Engine 4 was the first unit to arrive on scene, quickly identifying flames extending through the roof, a second-floor window, and along the siding. As they advanced a hose line into the structure, additional units began arriving to support the initial response. Normally, Arlington Heights Engine 2 would have been the second engine for this district, but due to being tied up on another assignment, Palatine Engine 83 stepped in and positioned themselves at a hydrant across the street. Meanwhile, Buffalo Grove Tower 25, the first ladder truck in the area, set up operations directly in front of the address. A total of three water lines were utilized to combat the blaze, which was successfully extinguished in under ten minutes.
