Working fire in Chicago, 5-29-21 (part 1)

Hey everyone, This just in from Matthew Sosnowski: There's been an incident reported at 11303 South Normal Street in Chicago. It all started as a still alarm at around 2:31 PM on Saturday, May 29, 2021. The cross streets are roughly the 500 block of West 113th Street and the 400 block of West 114th Street. The initial still alarm quickly escalated into a working fire situation by 2:34 PM. Engines 62 and 115, along with Ladder 27, were among the first to respond. By 2:45 PM, the fire had been upgraded to a box alarm status, prompting additional resources to be dispatched. Engines 75 and 93, along with Truck 40, joined the effort. Squad 5 and EMS units also arrived on scene to assist. The Englewood Fire Alarm Office has been monitoring the situation closely. Battalion Chiefs 22 and 21 have taken command of the incident, and there’s been an active response from multiple units across the area. As of now, the fire is being contained, but crews remain on scene to ensure full extinguishment.
