China's first mud pump tanker came out with the opportunity to add new equipment to the oil well equipment
Recently, Nanyang Erji Petroleum Equipment (Group) Co., Ltd. made a significant breakthrough by independently developing and researching the first oil-specific towed mud pump tanker in Canada. The equipment has successfully passed a series of rigorous tests and received official acceptance. This innovation marks a new milestone in China's petroleum industry.
In oilfield drilling and workover operations, it is essential to remove sand, debris, and gas from the well through mud circulation. The process brings various drill cuttings to the surface, which must be properly managed. Traditionally, skid-mounted mud tanks have been used for this purpose, with mud pumps applied to deliver pressure and flow into the annular space of the drill string. However, these systems are often cumbersome and less efficient in terms of mobility and environmental impact.
The pump tank car developed by Nanyang Erji’s Second Machinery Group offers a more advanced and eco-friendly solution. It enhances equipment transportation efficiency while minimizing environmental disruption, making it a more scientific and sustainable option compared to traditional skid-mounted units.
This specially designed towed pump tanker was developed for a Canadian client. The unit consists of four key components: a tractor, semi-trailer, mud tank, and circulating piping system. With a total weight of 15 tons and an effective mud tank capacity of 35 cubic meters, the equipment is both powerful and versatile. During operation, the tractor drives the mud pump, allowing the mud to be pumped into the tank. As the well discharges sand and waste, the mud tank effectively separates these materials. A deaerator further purifies the mud by removing toxic and harmful gases. In cold weather, steam manifolds can be used to heat the mud, preventing it from freezing and ensuring continuous operation.
After construction is complete, the remaining mud can be discharged through front and rear emptying pipes, and the unit can be easily transported to other well sites by the tractor. This feature significantly improves operational efficiency and reduces downtime.
The vehicle is designed to meet the demands of on-site mud circulation and is capable of handling the challenging road conditions typically found at oilfield locations. Its maneuverability, flexibility, and safety make it an ideal choice for modern drilling operations. Additionally, the equipment reduces the physical burden on workers, contributing to a safer and more efficient working environment.
Experts in the industry have praised the successful development of this equipment, noting that it fills a critical gap in China's domestic petroleum equipment market. It not only enhances the country's technical capabilities but also strengthens its position in the global energy sector. This innovation represents a major step forward in the evolution of oil well equipment and sets a new standard for future developments in the field.
