Heavy Truck: Engine Remanufacturing Demonstration Base is expected to be approved
China National Heavy Duty Truck Group Co., Ltd. recently announced that the national engine remanufacturing demonstration base is expected to be officially approved by the Development and Reform Commission in the near future. On September 10, a group of seven academicians from the Chinese Academy of Engineering, including Guanqiao, visited the company for an on-site inspection. According to reports, China National Heavy Duty Trucks has positioned remanufacturing as a core part of its long-term development strategy, making it the first and only company in China engaged in engine remanufacturing.
Currently, Jinan Fuqiang Power Company, a subsidiary of CNHTC, has established an annual remanufacturing capacity of 15,000 engines. In April this year, the National Key Laboratory of Equipment Remanufacturing Technology set up a research and teaching base at the company. The visit by the academicians aimed to establish a national-level engine remanufacturing demonstration base at CNHTC, with the goal of promoting the industrialization of remanufacturing across China.
This kind of high-level academic visit is quite rare in the province, highlighting the significance of CNHTC’s efforts in this emerging field. Remanufacturing is considered a cutting-edge discipline that combines advanced technology with sustainable practices. It involves the repair and restoration of used mechanical and electrical equipment to extend their lifespan, significantly reducing energy consumption and environmental impact.
The company's commitment to innovation and sustainability not only supports national green development goals but also sets a benchmark for the industry. As the demand for eco-friendly manufacturing grows, CNHTC’s leadership in engine remanufacturing positions it as a key player in shaping the future of the automotive and industrial sectors in China.
